Grajjietna Lyricist passes away

Sunny Aquilina, the lyricist behind several music pieces in Malta, passed away earlier today at the age of seventy. Sunny Aquilina also worked with Soc. Filarmonica Maria Mater Gratiae Zabbar, mostly known for the two songs 'Ġawhritna' and the most notable song 'Ġrajjietna', a song written in collaboration with Honorary Bandmaster Mro Ray Sciberras FLCM in memory of the one hundred and twenty five years since the club was founded. The general committee and its sub-committees would like to express its sympathy with Sunny Aquilina's family members and close relatives. Thank you Sunny, for everything. The Executive Committee of Soc. Filar. Maria Mater Gratiae Zabbar, held the annual general meeting for its club members. The main agenda of the meeting was discussing further the situation of the club as well as dissolving the Executive Committee and its sub-committees of the administrative year 2015-2016. ‘L-Umbrella l-Kbira’ breaks national record

The Youth Committee within the Soc. Filar. Maria Mater Gratiae Zabbar AD 1883, succeeded in contesting the national record of the Largest Feast Umbrella in Malta. The club's current feast umbrella was entirely manufactured in 2001 by that year's youth committee. This year's youth committee decided that in order to commemorate the umbrella's fifteenth year anniversary, it would be appropriate to make it known that it is actually Malta's largest feast umbrella. The previous record of 1750.44m³, registered by another band club in Zabbar, was broken by the MMG Youth Committee with the measurement of 2126.674m³. The record was registered with Malta Records.    ...
