POSTPONED TO SATURDAY 17TH JUNE 6PM-11PM   6th Edition of Zabbar Autofest - in aid of Puttinu Cares. After the success year after year and the great following for this Autofest, we bring you this year's edition, to take place on the 7th of May 2017. Admission to the show is free. Ticket fee for participants is of €5, with proceedings going to Puttinu Cares. This autofest does not have vehicle restrictions - cars can either be classic, sports, modified track cars, show cars etc. Heavy vehicles and motorcycles are also welcome. Club officials sign the final deed

The 9th of June will always be remembered as a glorious day in the club's history. The Club officials, Mr Joe Saliba, Mr Charles Micallef and Mr Lawrence Bugelli, signed the final deed in a meeting with the previous owners of the club premises, making Societa' Filarmonica Maria Mater Gratiae Zabbar the rightful owners of the premises at 72, Sanctuary Street, Zabbar. The signing of the final deed was followed by spontaneous celebrations at the club during the evening, where hundreds attended to show their support and appreciation. All this was possible thanks to numerous people and club members who supported the club officials especially Mr Ronald Mizzi who dedicated a lot of time in order to make the society's wish come true. One last step

After months of work and preparations by the Executive Committee, its sub committees and active members, the club officials held an extraordinary general meeting for the club members last Wednesday 24th of May 2017. Present during this general meeting were several club members, as well as four of the club's Honorary Presidents - Mr. Joe Fenech, Mr. Frans Scicluna, Hon. Dr. Helena Dalli and Hon. Joe Mizzi. Those present were addressed by the club President Mr. Joe Saliba as he  gave a short explanation of the whole scenario to-date regarding the club's position in order to be in a position to proceed for the final deed to purchase the premises.  Mr. Lawrence Bugelli the club's financial administrator also explained the club's financial position, budget and forecasts before proceeding, for the deed. Zabbar Autofest Postponed to June

The Youth Committee within the club, who are also the main organisers of Zabbar Autofest, would like to inform their followers that the event has been postponed to Saturday 17th June from 6pm to 8pm, at Labour Road, Zabbar due to political activities that were held on Sunday 7th of May. The committee would also like to inform all ticket holders that all their tickets are still valid even though the date printed is 7th May. Several vehicles of different makes, models, age and purposes will be present during the event which will also be an opportunity to raise funds for the charitable organisation Puttinu Cares. PESAH Holy Week Exhibition – Another Success

Hundreds of visitors visited this year's edition of PESAH, the Holy Week exhibiton organised by the club's Youth Committee and volunteers. The Executive Committee together with other club members, were happy to welcome the presence of Hon. Dr Helena Dalli, who is also an Honorary President of Societa' Filarmonica Maria Mater Gratiae. In addition, Opposition Leader Hon. Dr. Simon Busuttil, together with Hon. Dr Stephen Spiteri, also visited the exhibition and were gladly welcomed in the club premises. Former Prime Minister Hon. Dr Lawrence Gonzi aswell as Parliamentary Secretary Hon. Dr Stefan Buontempo visited the exhibiton on Maundy Thursday late in the afternoon. The Executive Committe as well as the Youth Committee and all volunteers involved would like to thank everyone who visited this year's exhibition. PESAH Holy Week exhibition now open

PESAH Holy Week exhibition now open

PESAH, an annual Holy Week exhibition held at the club's premises by the Youth Committee and volunteers, opened on Wednesday 5th of April at 7pm. Present during the opening were several members of the Society, together with the club officials, Zabbar's Archpriest Fr. Evan Caruana, Zabbar's Mayor Mark Vella Bonnici together with Mark Grech, a member of the local council. The officials also gladly welcomed the presence Hon. Dr. Marlene Farrugia MP and Hon. Joe Mizzi MP and Dr. Errol Cutajar. Club President Mr Joe Saliba stated that the exhibition, which started on a relatively small scale some years ago, grew into a vast exhibition, which is the result of many hours of sacrifice and dedication from the exhibitors and volunteers who help in this exhibition. Mr Joe Saliba also emphasized that the Executive Committee always gives its full support to the Youth Committee to continue raising the level of this exhibition. PESAH – Holy Week Exhibition

The Youth Committee together with several other members and volunteers from this Society, organise an annual artistic exhibition themed on Holy Week artefacts and models. This Exhibition was first organised in 2007 when the Youths’ Committee decided to restore and start using the Band Club’s underground cellar which was in a derelict situation and needed much attention and work. The idea behind this restoration project was so this part of the Club could be used for this Holy Week exhibition. Following the success of the first Pesah exhibition, which featured a life size representation of the Passover meal table, the Youths’ Committee decided to invest and expand this exhibition. Several members of the Committee showed the will to start manufacturing artistic semolina and salt plates, featuring instances from the life of the Christ and his Passion and Death. This new concept was incorporated in the Pesah exhibition which started to slowly expand through the premises of the Band Club. Several volunteers...
